Homunga to Waihi Beach walk

There are two absolutely stunning white-sand bays that can be accessed via walking tracks - Homunga and Orokawa.

The best way to walk the trail is probably starting at the Northern end of the walk. Get dropped at the top of Ngatitangata Road and start the walk down to Homunga Bay. The first part of the walk is over farmland, with the remainder of it through bush and along the coast ending up at the northern end of Waihi Beach. Alternatively, you can begin the walk from the Waihi Beach end but be prepared for a steep hill climb to get to the top of Ngatitanga Road.

Time: It will take approximately 3 hours depending on your level of fitness and how often you stop to take in the stunning views.

Requirements: A day pack with food and clothing. Sturdy footwear. Unless you want to do a (very long) round-trip, you will need to organise a pickup from the end of the walk.
